Magical winter landscapes and Sami culture - A night under the stars
Prepare for an adventure where the quiet beauty of the winter landscape, Sami culture and the majesty of the starry sky meet each other.
Our winter camp , which takes place in the mountains around Östersund, spans two days and one night. This is a unique experience where you have the opportunity to camp in the middle of a winter paradise and choose between staying in a tent under the stars or in a cabin, depending on the weather conditions. From meeting a Sami reindeer herder to a relaxing spa experience – and with any luck, the Northern Lights dance – this adventure is a chance to experience the magic of winter up close.
Explore the wonders of winter:
Meeting with Sami culture: You get to meet an experienced Sami reindeer herder, who shares his knowledge of Sami culture and traditions. Together you explore the history of the mountains and the importance of reindeer husbandry in the Sami lifestyle.
Touring skis and overnight stay: With touring skis we take ourselves out into the magical winter landscape of the mountains, where you can enjoy the peaceful nature and perhaps see tracks of reindeer or arctic animals. As evening approaches, we camp for the night, either in a sturdy tent under the starry sky or in a mountain cabin for added comfort, depending on the weather. And with a bit of luck, you'll see the magical dance of the northern lights in the sky.
Spa and Relaxation: Day two starts with a cross-country ski ride back to the starting point, followed by a luxurious spa experience. Here you can relax in a sauna tent and try snow or ice baths, while enjoying local snacks and drinks that complement this unique experience.
Local flavors: The experience ends with a delicious dinner with local produce that captures the flavor and soul of the region.
